Massage Envy Edgewater Redefines the Meaning of Massage for Hundreds of New Jersey Residents

May 11th, 2011 Posted in Massage Tags: , , , , , , ,

The hard-working citizens of New Jersey were the perfect match for Colleen Crooker’s Massage Envy, which is located in Edgewater. “I liked the fact that our services could heal people and I also thought Jersey was the perfect fit for me because Jersey consumers are generally intelligent,” she said.

Crooker started her early career in business management with a special niche in higher education.  After spending more than 30 years dedicating herself to human resource management and working with amazing educational institutions like Purdue and Columbia University, she knew it was time for a career change.  The national franchise of Massage Envy struck a chord; the concept of affordable luxury and massages not just as a pampering method, but one that reaps many health benefits was right up her alley.

“I was looking to get into something different.  I looked at franchises and considered that; however not until I looked at Massage Envy did it make me realize that it was a good match for my values,” said Crooker.  “I wanted a happy business that could be helpful to people; where it would be enjoyable for people and it would benefit them.  I liked the wellness and membership aspect of Massage Envy.  It made me feel like it was a good business that offered a service that had previously been considered a luxury spa service. “

Thanks to Massage Envy, the idea that massages is a luxury service only for the wealthy is quickly shifting to the idea that massages are for people who are interested in greater health. This trend is gaining greater popularity especially at the Massage Envy in Edgewater since most of its client base is made up of athletes.

Since opening in September 2007, the influx of people who come into Massage Envy in Edgewater for health issues has increased and continues to increase.  Crooker sees an upward trend of people who integrate massages into their everyday life, whether it’s in preparation for a sporting event or for physical ailments that need continued care.

With over 1,800 members and the number growing rapidly over time, the influence Massage Envy has had in the New Jersey residents’ psyche is one in which the spa has become a necessity and not just a random act of pampering.

Massage Envy Edgewater is located at 725 River Road in Edgewater, New Jersey. For further information on the services provided at this location, visit www.MassageEnvy.com or call (201) 941-2424.

This is a great example of my Core Relaxation Technique. Notice how I work light to medium, to deep for greater comfort and effectiveness. The process of using my weight to brace the spine in order to work deep into the muscle of the spine, front and back. I address the deep layers of muscle including the spinal erectors and even psoas. My weight is distributed accross the pelvis, for a deep compression pumping action of the lymph and blood of the lower organs, iliacus, psoas, glutes, shu points along the rib joints, and the pressure points at the sacrum. The deep portions, especially, the portions which I use my entire weight for compression are absolutely conraindicated for paitients who have severe spinal injuries in the acute stage or for persons with fragile skeletons. The technique is absolutely indicated for those who have large dense muscles, strong bones, and stress in the glutes and lower back.
